ABOUT US
KINGSTON APPLIED TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING
Formed K8T Ltd in 2004 to provide Engineering Analysis and High Performance Computing (HPC) calculations primarily in Fluid Dynamics and Heat transfer. The main areas of the business being Building Physics, Environmental Wind Modelling, Pharmaceutical processes and Fire and smoke analysis. K8T Ltd also provides specialist evaluation of data centre mission critical environments as well as energy analysis of Buildings in the concept and operational stages.
The K8TMon energy management software was developed 6 years ago and has been key to optimising building performance. K8T developed the data centre infrastructure and management (DCiM) software tool called K8TRAM which allows management and analysis of datacentres providing high level of consultancy to Deloitte Touche DCarbon8, BT, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, and Standard Bank of South Africa, African Bank, Tsystems etc..
OUR TEAM
PAUL KINGSTON
PhD Mechanical Engineering, BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering,
+44 (0) 117 450 4851
Environmental Analyst
After graduating BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering and possessing a PHD in Mechanical Engineering, he has been working within the areas of building environment modelling for the past 23 years. Prior to founding K8T in 2004, Paul was an Associate Partner at Hoare Lea and Partner Consulting Engineers working for the research and development department to establish Hoare Lea Virtual Engineering, which dealt with building physics analysis for the practice globally. Paul has also worked for Fluent Europe as a Senior Computational Fluid Dynamics. As part of K8T, Paul has worked on a range of projects, such as aeroacoustics analysis and power station studies. Paul was also instrumental to the IAA compliance for the Athletics Stadium, part of the Villa Deportiva Nacional VIDENA complex in Lima, that is hosting the Pan American Games 2019.
LEE BINDON
BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology and Design, ACIAT,

Environmental Analyst
From an Architectural background after studying BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology and Design, Lee has been with K8T for 4 years and has experience with a wide range of projects. With an architectural background, Lee has knowledge of relevant building standards with the ability to understand the complexes of a building and apply this knowledge to analyse where issues may arise. Mainly working on Fire and Smoke systems testing, Lee has advanced knowledge of using Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS). Using FDS software, Lee has modelled a variety of projects, from small residential stairwells to large auditoriums. As well as FDS, Lee is proficient in the use of various CAD software and parametric design tools that have been key to a number of stadium and wind study projects.
CALLUM FROOM
BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology and Design, ACIAT,
+44 (0) 117 450 4854
Environmental Analyst
After a placement year at K8T and graduating from BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology and Design, Callum has been involved in a number of projects across different areas, such as smoke and fire analysis, wind studies and car parks. Callum understands the way building functions and relevant standards and is able to apply this to the analysis of building physics. Throughout University and across the projects at K8T, Callum has skills across multiple CAD platforms with the ability to apply a understanding and practically to the job. Callum has also help with marketing and graphic design for the company.
INIRUO THOMAS
BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology and Design
.
Environmental Analyst
After completeling a placement at K8T as part of his BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology and Design course at the University of the West of England, Iniruo has joined the company and become a valuable part of the team. Iniruo mainly works on Fire and Smoke Control analysis projects with his wide range of skills and understanding he also assists in projects across multiple sectors.
